I have a cat named Natalia that loves to play in the water and push the dish across the floor and spilling water all over my Pergo flooring. I had a nice stainless-steel fountain, but every morning, water was everywhere on the floor. Tried the 1L small ELS dish and it helped, but occasionally I would find the gray retainer ring popped off and water splashed again. It just wasn't heavy enough. I got this bigger 2L ELS dish as a trial and put the dish in a new cheap baking pan along with the food bowls and no more playing in the water dish. See picture. So far, the gray retainer ring has remained on the bowl and the baking pan sometimes gets moved a little bit, but no more splashing of water on the flooring or even the pan. Natalia drinks water at the paw print opening so the filter doesn't do much of anything since the water level doesn't get pushed through the filter. A bigger dog would probably force water through the filter openings as designed. I am very happy with my purchase as it is.

I was skeptical to get this water bowl as my dog is a serious water drinker - who also makes a giant mess of my floors with all her drool. That said this water bowl is amazing! She still drinks a lot of water and I have to refill it frequently (I’ll be ordering a 2nd one soon) as it’s smaller than her metal one, but the amount of dry floors is awesome. This almost completely stops the massive amounts of water strewn across my floors.One of the best dog purchases to date! I’m also going to be getting them for all my family who have dogs!

My cat is weird and likes to play in water. He would slap the water in his bowl and would make the floor wet constantly. This bowl works amazingly. He can no longer slap water everywhere and is discouraged from dipping his paws in. My fluffy boy stays hydrated and my floors are dry. Win, win!!!

we have tried so many different water bowls for our cat. From different ceramic fountains to raised bowls. No matter how clean the bowl is, he will find a way to tip it. I don’t think it had to do with whisker sensitivity either because he would lick from the top of the fountains. I almost was to the point of just accepting that I’d be cleaning up large amounts of water, daily. Meaning, he will flip the entire fountain/bowl. Then I saw these bowls and decided to give it a try. He has not found a way to tip it yet😈 *knocks on wood*I won this time.I’m gonna be ordering another one shortly.He’s actually been hydrating more. I’m a happy cat momma.

Our dog is large and 65 pounds, we bought the bigger of the bowl and it’s perfect. He would splash so much out of the bowl it would make a little lake around, we even tried putting a towel down and buying a waterproof mat, nothing worked nearly as well as this for our issue. Easy to put together and use, highly recommend if this sounds like your dog
