Straight out of the package and setup in the truck in about 20 minutes. Very easily adjusted and easy to install. Our dog is about 12 lbs and after putting her in minor adjustment so the bed stayed suspended where she could sit and see out the side window.Very sturdy, love that the framework is metal, should last for our needs. I love being able to clip her harness onto the secure strap clip. The pouch was handy to store the leash, I love that I can have it suspended so she can see out the window which also leaves space under it for added storage while traveling.First trip out I added a blanket on the bottom as the pad is very thin, we had a long 3.5 hr trip. She sat there without being stressed, even laying down where she could still see out the window.I would recommend.

Works for me and The Bandit. Reading some of the reviews I was uncertain about it but decided to try anyway and glad I did! Seeing some of the problems that others mentioned, I was willing to give it a try because the price was so much less than some I’d seen. To fix the drooping front I cut stiff cardboard and inserted between grey booster seat and the lining. No more drooping front😃 I inserted a 2 inch piece of foam between the liner and the board insert. Now the Bandit sits higher and can look out the window. I also placed a throw pillow under the booster seat to take some of the tension off of the straps, and it still sits secure. I noticed that some people had a problem with the strap that attached to the dog’s collar so I put has no pull harness on him to remove the danger of him chocking himself, and it gives him a little more leeway to move. The Bandit is an 11 lb 10 year old Schtizpoo that DOES NOT like to ride in the car. He’s the first one in once the door opens, but he starts whimpering as soon as the car starts to move. For some reason, he is much calmer in this seat. The first time I had to put him in it. Now he gets in by himself. We’ve taken several rides with him in the seat. Not to say that his riding anxiety is completely gone, but it’s 75% better. Maybe a little 5 lb dog wouldn’t need the extra measures that I’ve taken, but it works for me. And yes I would recommend this booster seat.

*Updated*I had already given this product a five star review but came back to update because I was recently in a car accident that left my car totaled. My 6lb yorkie was in this horrific accident with me but luckily, had been secured, with her harness, into this car seat. The car spun multiple times, air bags deployed, etc but my dog is safe and alive all thanks to this product! It saved my dog’s life! And despite the accident, the car seat remains in perfect condition! Don’t hesitate. For the safety of your furry family member, buy it!This seat gives me peace of mind when traveling with my dog. She’s safely secured with the clasp so she can’t run around and is safe in case of an air bag. Plus, it keeps my car clean without wet nose marks and scratches. My dog is a 6 pound yorkie and the seat holds her comfortably. Two of her could fit lol. I did put a light throw blanket on the bottom to give my dog a slight ‘lift’ so she can look out the window. Extremely sturdy and easy installation. Highly recommend.

The Good- Overall we really like this car seat for our Cavalier puppy. Since he sometimes gets car sick it is handy that the liner is removable and washable. It’s sturdy and easy to set up or store on the go! Puppy took right to sitting in his seat and getting comfortable enough to nap. The seat is big enough that he can continue to use it once fully grown too!The Bad- the buckle/clip on the seatbelt strap for this particular car seat gets jammed and nearly impossible to open. It doesn’t happen all the time and if we fiddle with it for a few minutes it will finally give, but frustrating when you are rushing about. I’m pretty handy so I may try to just remove and replace the clip. This is probably a one-off issue so I’d still encourage the purchase of this seat, but just be aware.

I purchased this carrier about a year ago and it was great. I have a Pomeagle (Pomeranian Beagle mix) that is 18 lbs. and the seat is rated for 24 lbs. He loves this seat because he can sits up high enough to look out of the window and, it is large enough for him to take a nap in. All went well until the metal snap-hooks on the strap that connects to the metal triangle on the car seat broke. I guess 18 lbs. was too much weight for the hooks. I've tried to get a replacement strap from the company to no avail. I tried a strap from an old duffel bag but the clasp broke again. Other than the metal hook breaking, this is a good carrier. So my advise to you is, make sure you get a carrier that will hold at least 10 lbs more than what your pooch weighs or get a car seat that does not need to be suspended by straps for you pooch to look out of the window.
